June 25, 1936
The annual rodeo at the Millerick ranch, Schellville, Sunday, was a highly successful affair, thousands of people attending, and considerable money raised for the widows and orphans fund of the California Highway patrol association. The affair started with a monster barbecue at noon, beans and bread being furnished with the meat by the rodeo sponsors. There were plenty of exciting roping contests, bronco riding, steer riding, fancy rope acts, running races, clowning and other interesting events.
