WHAT WE HAVE IN OUR COLLECTION

The Marcy House Research and Archive holds archival material related to the Sonoma Valley. The Sonoma Valley Historical Society collects material from the Pythian Road in the north end of the Valley to San Pablo Bay in the south.

The collections contain some information on the broader Sonoma County Region and California. Types of materials include: business records, magazines, funeral records for Sonoma Valley cemeteries, maps, newspapers, records from local organizations and government, train information and maps, personal papers, photographs, school yearbooks, scrapbooks, videos, telephone books, city directories, general history and reference books, pamphlet files and oral histories.

ON-SITE RESEARCH

To get the most out of your visit to us, it is best to set up an appointment with the Collections Manager, Lorrie Fulton. This can be done by calling (707) 343-1335 (please leave a message) or emailing the Collections Manager at: archives@sonomavalleyhistory.org 

HOW TO PLACE A RESEARCH REQUEST

If you cannot visit us, please send a written request via email or regular mail to the attention of: Collections Manager(archives@sonomavalleyhistory.org). Research requests are typically answered within two to three days. The time needed varies depending on the question(s) asked.

FEES

There is no charge for visiting Research & Archives or for an archival staff to answer your questions. Some fees may apply for research by staff,  digital copies, photocopies, and publication use.

We are a small non-profit and donations are always welcome.  Your donations help us preserve and care for the collections.
