Volunteer

The Sonoma Valley Historical Society thrives because of the dedication of our volunteers. Will you join us?

We have three primary groups of volunteers:

Museum Greeters and Docents provide interpretive support to museum visitors and classes and may also be involved in educational outreach services. Visitor have handouts about the displays for self guided tours of the museum.

Interns are volunteers who are often students fulfilling program requirements for their home institutions – these will be given appropriate and well-defined project assignments.  Interns are drawn from the local and regional educational institutions in Northern California but may also include students from throughout California or beyond.

Volunteers can chose various tasks in support of Society operations including: archival processing, conservation/ preservation tasks, public relations and outreach, information technology, or research according to their interests

If you are interested in volunteering please review our Volunteer Opportunities section below and fill out the Volunteer Application. New volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation meeting; these meetings are held three times a year (February, May, and September) and we will let you know of the next when your application is confirmed.

Please call or email with questions to Lorrie Fulton, Collection Manager at 707-343-1335 or archives@sonomavalleyhistory.org for information.
